What Makes Sort & Order Different From Other Home Organisers?

Choosing someone to help organise your home is a very personal decision. You are inviting them into your space, showing them the areas that feel difficult and trusting them with belongings that may hold years of memories.

Every professional organiser works differently. At Sort & Order, my approach combines practical organisation with a genuine understanding of how busy homes and families function.

Here are five things that make working with Sort & Order different.

  1. Organisation designed around your real life

A beautifully organised home is only successful if it continues to work after I leave.

I take time to understand who uses the space, what needs to happen there and where the current problems begin. This might include the morning school rush, laundry that never quite completes its journey or family belongings that gather in the same places every day.

Together, we create personalised organisation systems that support your routines and make the home easier to manage.

2. Calm, discreet and completely non-judgemental support

Homes can become overwhelming for many reasons. A demanding career, teenagers, grief, illness, divorce, ADHD, caring responsibilities or simply having too much to manage can all affect how a home functions.

You never need to tidy before I arrive or apologise for how things look. I meet you exactly where you are and help you move forward at a pace that feels manageable.

Many of my clients feel relieved as soon as they have made contact because they are no longer trying to solve everything alone.

3. More than decluttering

Decluttering is often part of the process, but my work goes much further.

I consider storage, layout, traffic flow and how easily everyday items can be found, used and returned. Sometimes the solution is better storage. Sometimes it is changing the room configuration, creating clear functional zones or moving belongings closer to where they are actually used.

The aim is to create a home that feels calmer while improving efficiency, space utilisation and everyday usability.

4. Professional experience you can trust

Sort & Order was established in 2019 and I have since helped individuals and families through everything from one-room projects to complete home organisation.

My experience includes working behind the scenes on the first series of the BBC’s Sort Your Life Out, alongside supporting busy families and high-profile clients who value discretion.

My previous career as a primary school teacher also gives me a valuable understanding of children, family routines and the importance of organisation systems that every member of the household can use

5. A genuinely personalised and collaborative service

There is no standard formula for organising someone’s home.

Some clients want to work alongside me throughout the process. Others need me to take the lead because they are short on time or feeling overwhelmed. We can organise one difficult area, tackle several rooms or create a plan for the whole home.

I can help with sorting, storage solutions, labelling, spatial optimisation and systematic arrangement. Every decision is based on what will work for you, your belongings and the way your household lives.

Creating a home that supports you

My goal is to give you more than a tidy room. I want to create a home that helps your days run more smoothly, reduces the mental load and gives you back valuable time.

You do not need to know where to start or how large the project might be. That is something we can work out together.
